The Center for Technical Assistance for Excellence in Special Education (TAESE) at Utah State University has partnered with three states to provide web-based recruitment systems (digital employment bulletin boards) for hiring teachers, related service staff, and administrators.

TAESE web-based systems link job seekers worldwide to jobs at the State and school district levels. The recruitment websites help fill positions in both general and special education. TAESE can help build and maintain State digital employment bulletin boards that are designed and owned by the State. TAESE staff operates and maintains the system 24/7, 365 days a year.

TAESE provides support for several State websites that recruit, provide professional development, information, and track data in order to fine-tune recruitment and teacher training. In one State, around 3,000 education jobs were filled through the website. In addition, the professional development website attracted 35,000 subscribers. The employment bulletin board has helped the State fill critical teaching positions and maintain its high standards for educators.

TAESE can maintain an employment recruiting website and can facilitate online registration for the States annual job fairs and other State events. In one State, the job fair attracted 1,492 participants from 35 different States. At the fair, districts and charters conduct onsite interviews and hire qualified staff the same day.

TAESE can do the following:

  • Assist in building a customized State web-based recruitment system
  • Provide maintenance and ongoing operation of the system
  • Provide recruitment data to the State Department of Education
  • Create and maintain promising practices website.
  • Help track and evaluate State professional development activities.
